Listening to your Body's Innate Wisdom
General
Wellness
We have so much control over our well-being. From prevention to managing chronic conditions, we need to listen inwards to what our body is trying to tell us. Sometimes it is hard to see through the weeds, as a Registered Nurse and Functional Health Nutritional Counselor, I am trained to take a holistic viewpoint, integrating multiple modalities to support your health goals. Available for in-clinic, in-home, phone, or zoom appointments.

Overall Wellness
It isn't just about finding a holistic practitioner when you are sick - it is also about the journey while in health to continue prevention. Fine-tuning areas within that you have always been interested in. Learning new tools and tips with the latest health research. Finding new recipes to bring in more nourishment. Getting a seasonal or yearly check-up, it is always important to help us tune inwards and listen to our body.
If you are looking for more specific support, please refer to any page that reflects your needs: Infant/Child/Teen, Women's Health, or Men's Health. Reach out anytime with additional questions about how Functional Health could benefit your health and well-being goals through our consult portal.

Prodromal States of Health
We have an innate sense within us to know 'something just isn't right' - we go for the tests and everything is in a normal range on the results. The physician tells you things are normal and to can check in again 6 months to a year down the road to see what changes - you are not meeting any diagnostic criteria of abnormality. This can go on for years. This is also the time where diet and lifestyle modifications can enhance our cellular environment to reverse initial damage and prevent further imbalance and dis-ease. Bringing your concerns to a Functional Health specialist to have an in-depth assessment completed to get to the root cause and improve your cellular function.

Digestion
Digestion begins in the mind and ends with excretion. Digestion is connected to our mental health and our immune health. It is the site of assimilation of all nutrients that enter our body, to act as the building blocks for all functions within our organs - it is the center of our being. As a Registered Nurse and Functional Health Nutritionist, we will holistically review concerns, discomforts, and diagnosis that you may be dealing with to bring about management of dis-ease, reverse symptoms that are possible, or prevent further problems from arising by addressing root causes. Immune Support
We may not even notice our immune system until something happens - we get a super intolerable flu that knocks us out for days or a cut on our finger that gets infected. We can sometimes take for granted those little cells that roam our body 24hrs a day looking for invaders, and the lymph system that is so imperative. Our immune system starts at all those openings in our body from the eyes, skin, and digestive tract. But what happens when our body starts to attack itself as an autoimmune condition? How can we support our body during flu season and all through the year? As a Registered Nurse and Functional Health Nutritionist, this is one area as part of the holistic picture that we will review to ensure your immune system is functioning optimally, and when there is imbalance - how can we calm, mediate, and improve it's response?

Cardiovascular & Heart Health
When we sit in silence or are exercising intensely, we can feel the beating of our heart - the blood pumping fast or at a steady pace in rhythm with our breath. It brings nutrients, oxygen, and hormone signalling to our cells - and takes away waste to be removed. The circulatory system infuses every tissue and organ with life giving liquid. While we may take this system for granted as we are young, it becomes more apparent as we age. What can we do in health to prevent concerns? How can we adjust lifestyle and nutrition to reverse symptoms? What about after being started on medications, is there any support to manage? As a Registered Nurse and Functional Health Nutritionist, I can support your goals related to Cardiovascular and Heart Health.
